Halloween is near. Ghosts and ghouls and witches and Kardashians are everywhere. Don’t be scared – embrace the madness with a “spooktacular” staycation at Loews Chicago O’Hare.
A staycation at an airport hotel? Why, yes! Condé Nast Traveler recently named the hotel one of the ten airport hotels where you’d actually want to stay. And despite being next to the flight path of one of the world’s busiest airports the rooms are nearly sound-proof. During a recent stay the only way I knew a plane was flying by was by looking out the window.

Located next to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, this hotel is across the street from the entertainment disctrict of MB Financial Park. There you can find Hofbräuhaus, Five Roses, Fogo de Chao, and this month, Disturbia Screams In The Park.
This haunted house in the basement of the complex’s garage is 20,000 square feet of twists, turns, menacing clowns, chainsaw-wielding maniacs, spooky hillbillies and many more nightmarish characters. While you’ll never be touched, as you make your way through the hair-raising scenes you’ll interact with these creatures that seem to have stepped right out of a horror movie. From the pitch black claustrophobia of the cavern of darkness to the strobe light confusion of the insane asylum to nearly-blinding fog this attraction will give you fright from beginning to end. It’s devilishly, fiendishly well-done.
This heart-stopping attraction comes with your Loews Chicago O’Hare Spooktacular Suites package. To calm you down once you return to the room you’ll be greeted with a selection of Halloween treats, complete with “spirits”. Once your pulse is back to normal you can raise it again with an in-room horror flick, or, if you choose, something a little calmer.
[]The package is available until October 31 and includes:
- 2 Tickets to Disturbia Event at MB Financial Park
- Complimentary self-parking
- In-room movie
- Trick or treat amenity
Prices average around $200 for the package. At press time you could even stay overnight on Halloween at just $193/night for a King guest room, and only $273 for a one-bedroom suite. At 720 square feet it’s a spacious retreat, and after the confined spaces of Disturbia you’ll want the room to spread out!
Loews Chicago O’Hare invited us to check out this package so we could share it with you.
